HypnoBirthing:

T he HypnoBirthing Childbirth Method is as much a philosophy of birth as it is a technique for achieving a satisfying, relaxing and stress-free birthing. HypnoBirthing teaches pregnant women and their birthing companions the art and joy of experiencing birth in a safer, more comfortable manner. Women learn how to call upon their bodies' own natural epidural and thus eliminate the need for medication. When a woman is properly prepared for childbirth and when her mind and body are in harmony, nature is free to function in the same well-designed manner that it does with all other creatures.

You will be fascinated as you view HypnoBirthing videos showing laboring mothers, awake, alert and in good humor as they experience safe, gentle birth - free of the Fear-Tension-Pain Syndrome. HypnoBirthing teaches a woman how to release all prior programming about birth, how to trust her body and work with it, as well as how to free herself from harmful emotions that lead to pain-causing fear and unyielding muscles. HypnoBirthing helps women rediscover their natural birthing instincts. With most births requiring little or no intervention, HypnoBirthing moms are aware and fully in control, but profoundly relaxed as they bring their babies into the world.

The Mind-Body-Spirit Institute offers HypnoBirthing classes on an ongoing basis to pregnant women and their birthing companions in the State College area. Upon completion of the course, this program is reimbursed by many health insurance plans (like Geisinger Health Plan and Health America).

Because of the many requests we received, we created a Weekend for Couples program. Please contact us if you are interested in bringing this program to your area or for more information and registration. BROCHURE *

Mother's Way Breast Feeding Education and Support Program:

T he goal of this program is to provide mothers with the education and support they need to make the experience of breast feeding easy, comfortable and totally fulfilling. New mothers have many questions, such as:

  • Does breast feeding have to hurt?
  • Will I have enough milk?
  • When do I introduce other foods?
  • Is breast feeding really best?
  • What if the baby doesn't want to nurse?
  • How do I know my baby is getting enough?

The first part of the program is a 4 hour lactation class taught by a Registered Nurse with much experience in lactation education and support. The second part of the program is a visit by the RN to mother and baby either in the hospital or at home soon after the delivery. Ongoing support is available as needed by mother and baby. Please contact us for more information and scheduling.
